Here's a few things to know about the Top of the Town Final Five Contest...

The first round of voting ended April 11, but the "Final Five" run-off contest runs until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23. There were almost 7,000 nominations this year combined!

We have changed a few things – this year we are encouraging comments on why you are voting for a particular business or person and will publish a select few when we announce the winners on June 7th. Also, votes will not be combined from Round 1 to determine the final winners – all nominees start from scratch on Round 2.

This "Final Five" contest features the Top 5 in each category, as decided by our readers' votes. No voter submissions are permitted this time around.  Read the June 7th issue of City Pulse (print or digital) to see who won!

Welcome Final Five round of the 2017 City Pulse/Fox 47 Top of the Town Awards! Over 11,000 participants voted in the first round, nominating nearly 7,000 of Greater Lansing’s best people, places and businesses. From those thousands of nominations, we pulled out the top five vote-getters in every category to battle it out for Top of the Town supremacy.

What you need to know:

The Details: The Final Five run-off contest runs until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23. In this round, you can’t nominate anyone new; you must select from the dropdown menu.

We want to know what you think! (Will we regret this? Maybe!): We are encouraging comments on why you are voting for a particular business, person or person and will publish a select few when we announce the winners on June 7.

No carryover points: First Round votes no longer carry into the Final Five Round; all nominees start from scratch. So if you’re vying for that top spot, make sure your fans come back and vote again!
